Local Band The Hollow Pines Signs With Regional Label, Plans Fall Tour
Millbrook's own indie-folk outfit The Hollow Pines have officially signed with Ashford Sound Records and announced a 14-date fall tour through the mid-Atlantic. The band says their debut full-length album will drop in October.
MILLBROOK, June 3 — It's been a long road from open-mic nights at The Rusty Nail to a proper record deal, but The Hollow Pines are finally making the leap. The five-piece indie-folk band, which has been a fixture of Millbrook's music scene for six years, announced Monday that they've signed with Ashford Sound Records, a well-regarded independent label based out of Harwick, and will release their debut full-length album, Blue Ridge Radio, on October 11.
Tour Dates to Know
- Oct. 12 — The Paramount Room, Millbrook (hometown show)
- Oct. 15 — The Velvet Attic, Harwick
- Oct. 18 — Club Meridian, Caldwell Springs
- Oct. 22 — The Foxhole, Port Lennox
Frontwoman Cassidy Vane told the Courier the signing felt "surreal but totally right." "We made this record in my uncle's barn over two winters," she laughed. "The fact that anyone wants to put it out is still wild to us." Tickets for the hometown show at The Paramount Room go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and are expected to sell out quickly — the venue holds just 340. The full tour schedule and album pre-order are available at thehollowpines.com.
