June Community Calendar: Festivals, Farmers Markets, and a Free Concert Series
From the return of the Millbrook Waterfront Festival to free Tuesday night concerts in Founders Park, June is shaping up to be one of the busiest months the city has seen in years.
MILLBROOK, June 3 — Summer is officially in swing, and the city's event calendar is absolutely loaded. Whether you're into live music, local produce, family-friendly outdoor activities, or community gatherings, there's something happening nearly every weekend — and quite a few weekdays — throughout the month. Here's your guide to what's coming up in and around Millbrook this June.
Featured Events This Month
- June 7–9: Millbrook Waterfront Festival — The beloved annual festival returns to Lakeshore Park with food vendors, live entertainment, a juried art show, and fireworks on Saturday night. Admission is free; parking passes ($8) available at the gate.
- Every Tuesday, June 4–25: Founders Park Concert Series — Free outdoor concerts starting at 7 p.m. Lineup includes local acts The Redline Brass Band, folk duo Sparrow & Fern, and indie group The Caldwell Three. Bring a blanket.
- June 14: Millbrook Farmers Market Grand Opening — The seasonal market officially opens at the corner of Mill and Third streets every Saturday through October. Over 40 vendors confirmed for opening day.
- June 21: Riverview High School Community Art Walk — Student artwork displayed throughout downtown storefronts from noon to 6 p.m., with an awards ceremony at the Millbrook Arts Centre at 5 p.m.
- June 28–30: Heritage Days — Three days of historical programming at the Millbrook Museum, including guided tours, a vintage vehicle parade, and a period costume contest for kids.
Several events this month are part of the city's Millbrook Alive initiative, a partnership between the Downtown Business Association and the Parks & Recreation Department aimed at boosting foot traffic in the core.
