What's Happening in Millbrook: June 20–30 Community Calendar
From outdoor concerts to neighborhood cleanups and a citywide reading challenge kickoff, there's no shortage of things to do in Millbrook over the next ten days.
MILLBROOK, June 15 — From outdoor concerts to neighborhood cleanups and a citywide reading challenge kickoff, there's no shortage of things to do in Millbrook over the next ten days. The Courier has rounded up the highlights from our community events board — and as always, if you have an event you'd like listed, submit it through our website at least five days in advance.
This Week's Highlights (June 20–24)
- Saturday, June 21 — Riverfront Summer Concert Series Kickoff: Free outdoor concert at Riverton Park featuring local band The Coppervale String Quartet, 6 p.m. Bring a blanket. Food trucks on site from 5 p.m.
- Sunday, June 22 — Eastside Neighborhood Cleanup: Volunteers meet at the corner of Harlow Ave and 9th Street at 9 a.m. Gloves and bags provided. Organized by the Eastside Block Association.
- Tuesday, June 24 — City Council Regular Session: Millbrook City Hall, Council Chambers, 6:30 p.m. Agenda includes a second reading of the commercial signage ordinance and a budget amendment vote. Public comment open.
- Wednesday, June 25 — Millbrook Public Library Reading Challenge Kickoff: All ages welcome. Free registration, prizes for readers of all levels. Main branch, 10 a.m.
Looking Ahead (June 26–30)
The back half of the month brings a few larger events worth planning around. The Millbrook Latino Heritage Festival takes over Calloway Square on June 28 and 29, featuring live music, traditional dance performances, local food vendors, and a community art installation organized by the Millbrook Cultural Alliance. Admission is free both days. On June 30, the annual Millbrook Triathlon returns to Clearwater Lake, with the swim course start at 7 a.m. — expect road closures on Lakeshore Drive between 6 a.m. and noon. Spectators are encouraged to park at Clearwater Community Center and walk to the course.
- June 26 — Youth Theatre Workshop Open House, Riverview Playhouse, 4 p.m., free
- June 27 — Millbrook Urban Gardeners Monthly Meeting, Eastside Community Center, 7 p.m.
- June 28–29 — Latino Heritage Festival, Calloway Square, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. both days
- June 30 — Millbrook Triathlon, Clearwater Lake, race start 7 a.m.
