MILLBROOK, June 1 — June is shaping up to be one of the busiest months the Millbrook events calendar has seen in years. Whether you're into food, music, outdoor activities, or family fun, there's something on the docket for just about everyone over the next four weeks. Here's a look at what's coming up around the city.
Highlights for the Month
- June 7–9: Riverside Strawberry Festival, Harmon Park — local vendors, live music, pie-eating contest (registration open through June 4)
- June 14: Millbrook Farmers Market Summer Kickoff, Commerce Street Plaza — extended hours until 7 p.m., special vendor showcase
- June 15: Public Library Summer Reading Program Launch, 10 a.m. — free sign-up for all ages, prizes throughout the summer
- June 21: Midsummer Night Run 5K, benefiting the Millbrook Food Pantry — registration at MillbrookRuns.org
- June 22: Outdoor Movie Night: The Princess Bride, Creekside Amphitheater — gates open at 7 p.m., film at dusk, free admission

A few things to keep in mind as you plan: Harmon Park will have reduced parking during the Strawberry Festival weekend, so organizers are encouraging attendees to use the shuttle from Millbrook Middle School's south lot. Also, the Midsummer Night Run route passes through the Lakeview neighborhood, so expect some brief road closures on Birchwood Avenue between 7 and 9 a.m. on June 21.
